Sul Malik (Sulaiman Malik) — Founder of DentalCompare

Sul Malik, whose full name is Sulaiman Malik, is the founder and developer of DentalCompare. He is a fourth-year BDS Dental Surgery student at Newcastle University, and built DentalCompare alongside his degree.

DentalCompare is a free platform that helps patients in the UK compare NHS availability and published private dental treatment prices across clinics, in one place.

The idea came from conversations Sul kept having on placement in dental clinics. Patients regularly told him how difficult it was to find an NHS dentist accepting new patients, and how, when they looked into private treatment instead, the next problem was working out what it would actually cost - usually meaning several practice websites checked, or several calls made, just to compare prices for the same treatment.

DentalCompare was built to make that easier: a single place to see published treatment prices, clinic information and ratings side by side, combining his experience in dentistry with an interest in technology and improving access to dental information.
