Privacy Policy

DentalCompare is a free dental comparison platform founded by Sulaiman Malik. You can read more about DentalCompare on our About page. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, contact dentalcompare2026@gmail.com.

Clinic enquiries. If you use the "Enquire" form on a clinic profile, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the treatment you're interested in. This is sent by email directly to that clinic so they can respond to you - your details are shared with that clinic only, and are not added to a DentalCompare mailing list. We do record that an enquiry was made (which clinic, which treatment, when), but this record does not include your name, email or phone number.

DentalCompare AI. Anything you type into DentalCompare AI is sent to our AI provider to generate a response (see "AI chat" below). Please avoid entering sensitive personal or medical information you wouldn't want processed this way - DentalCompare AI is not a substitute for professional dental advice.

Account details. If you create an account, our platform provider (Base44) handles sign-up and login, and your account includes your email address. Within DentalCompare itself, we store your account role and any clinics you've saved as favourites.

DentalCompare AI is only available to signed-in users. When you send a message, it - along with the relevant parts of your conversation - is sent to Anthropic's Claude model, via our platform provider Base44's AI integration, to generate a reply. DentalCompare does not store your conversation history in its own database; on our side, a conversation exists only in your browser for that session and is cleared when you leave or refresh the page.

We don't control, and can't fully confirm from our own systems, how long Base44 or Anthropic may retain data passing through their infrastructure as part of providing this service. If you'd like more detail on this, we'd recommend also checking Base44's and Anthropic's own privacy documentation.

Essential. Our platform provider, Base44, uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to operate the site. We also store your cookie choice itself (accepted or rejected) in your browser's local storage, so we don't have to ask you again on every visit - we treat this as essential, since it's what lets us respect the choice you've made.

Optional: Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand overall site traffic, but only if you accept analytics cookies. The Google Analytics script is not loaded, and no Google Analytics cookies are set, unless and until you accept - either via the cookie banner shown on your first visit, or the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of every page, which you can use at any time to change your choice. If you reject or haven't yet made a choice, Google Analytics does not run.

DentalCompare is hosted using Base44, which may operate its own platform-level technical or usage tools, separately from DentalCompare's own Google Analytics setting, as part of running and securing the underlying hosting infrastructure. Where these tools are controlled by Base44 rather than DentalCompare, their operation is subject to Base44's own platform settings and policies, not the analytics cookie choice you make on this site. If you have concerns about this, please contact us and we'll look into it.

We don't currently use advertising or social media tracking pixels.

As described above, Google Analytics only runs after you've accepted analytics cookies, and helps us understand overall site traffic and usage patterns.

Separately, our platform also records a small number of basic usage events (for example, that a clinic profile was viewed, or an enquiry was submitted) to help us understand how DentalCompare is used. These records are tied to the clinic/treatment involved, not to your name or contact details, and don't use cookies.

Clinic details and prices shown on DentalCompare relate to dental practices, not individuals, and are collected primarily from publicly available sources such as clinic websites and published price lists - see our About page for more on this. We also use the Google Places API to keep clinic ratings up to date, and the NHS's own directory service to check NHS-patient-acceptance status.

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to provide the service:

• With a specific dental clinic, when you submit an enquiry to that clinic.
• With our platform provider, Base44, which hosts DentalCompare, handles accounts/login, and provides the AI integration.
• With Anthropic, as the AI provider behind DentalCompare AI, via Base44.
• With Google, via Google Analytics (site usage) and the Google Places API (clinic ratings).
• Where we're required to by law.

If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account and associated data. We don't currently have a specific, guaranteed deletion timeframe we can publish and confirm is met in every case, and we'd rather say that plainly than commit to a number of days we can't verify. Beyond that, we keep information only for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law.

If you're in the UK, data protection law generally gives you rights over your personal information, including the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to certain uses of it. To exercise any of these, contact dentalcompare2026@gmail.com.
