DentalCompare is a free platform that helps patients compare NHS availability and private dental treatment prices across the UK, in one place.
Why I Built DentalCompare
I'm Sulaiman Malik, a BDS Dental Surgery student at Newcastle University. The idea for DentalCompare came from conversations I kept having on placement in dental clinics.
Patients regularly told me how difficult it was to find an NHS dentist accepting new patients. When they looked into private treatment instead, the next problem was working out what it would actually cost - which usually meant checking several practice websites, or phoning around, just to compare prices for the same treatment. DentalCompare was built to make that easier: a single place to see published treatment prices, clinic information and ratings side by side, without having to do that legwork yourself.

Sul Malik, whose full name is Sulaiman Malik, is the founder and developer of DentalCompare and a fourth-year BDS Dental Surgery student at Newcastle University. He built and continues to develop the platform alongside his degree, combining his experience in dentistry with an interest in technology and improving access to dental information. Where Our Information Comes From
Clinic details and treatment prices on DentalCompare are collected primarily from publicly available sources, such as dental practice websites and published price lists. Prices can change and clinics may update their fees at any time - always confirm the current price and treatment details directly with the clinic before booking.
A clinic appearing on DentalCompare does not mean it endorses, partners with, sponsors or is affiliated with DentalCompare, unless stated otherwise. If you're a clinic and think any of your information is out of date or incorrect, please get in touch and we'll correct it.
What DentalCompare Can and Can't Do
DentalCompare helps you compare published treatment prices, clinic information and ratings, and can point you towards clinics offering NHS treatment or finance options where that's listed.
DentalCompare cannot diagnose a dental problem, recommend a specific treatment for your symptoms, or give personalised financial advice. The AI assistant searches DentalCompare's own clinic and pricing data to help you find options faster - it is not a substitute for advice from a dentist.

DentalCompare currently lists 100+ dental clinics across Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington, Consett and York, with plans to expand to more areas over time. DentalCompare is free to use for patients.
