NHS dental treatment is grouped into three charge bands. You pay a single fixed charge for all treatment within a band, no matter how many items or appointments are involved.
Examination, diagnosis and advice. X-rays, a scale and polish if clinically needed, preventive treatment.
All Band 1 treatments plus fillings, root canal treatment, and removal of teeth.
All Band 1 and 2 treatments plus crowns, dentures, and bridges.
* Charges correct as of 2024–25. Some patients are exempt (under 18, pregnant, on certain benefits). Emergency treatment is charged at Band 1.
