New patient check-up "from" prices as published by each practice, lowest first. Price details are summarised from each practice's published price list. The price you pay depends on your assessment, so always confirm with the practice.

What affects the price

A new patient examination is the first appointment at a practice. It is usually longer than a routine check-up, so it is often priced separately.

  • Whether X-rays are included. Some practices charge for them separately.
  • The length of the appointment and whether a hygienist visit is included.
  • Membership plans. Many practices spread routine check-ups and hygiene visits into a monthly fee after the first appointment.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Does the price include X-rays?
  • What does a routine check-up cost after this first visit?
  • Do you offer a monthly membership plan, and what does it include?

Whether a treatment is right for you, and what it will cost, can only be decided after a dentist has examined you. These prices are a starting point for comparing practices, not a quote.
