Tooth extraction "from" prices as published by each practice, lowest first. Price details are summarised from each practice's published price list. The price you pay depends on your assessment, so always confirm with the practice.
What affects the price
An extraction removes a tooth that cannot be saved. Straightforward extractions are done by a general dentist; more difficult ones, including some wisdom teeth, may be referred on.
- Simple or surgical. A surgical extraction (for example where the tooth is broken or below the gum) usually costs more.
- Which tooth. Wisdom teeth and back teeth are often priced higher.
- Whether you need sedation.
- Replacing the tooth afterwards, if you choose to, is a separate cost.
Questions to ask before you book
- Is this price for a simple or a surgical extraction?
- Is the assessment and X-ray included?
- If the tooth needs replacing later, what are the options and costs?
Whether a treatment is right for you, and what it will cost, can only be decided after a dentist has examined you. These prices are a starting point for comparing practices, not a quote.
